Born in 1975 in Arkhangelsk.
Graduated from Pomor State University with a degree in Law.
Since 1997, he has worked in the Prosecutor's Office.
From 2006 to 2007, he performed duties as an investigator in the central office of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
In 2007, he took office at the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, where he held the position of Senior Investigator on Major Crimes under the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
In April 2016, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
From 2020 to 2025, he held the position of Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Actual State Counselor of Justice.
He was awarded national decorations, including: the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II class (2011), a Certificate of Honor from the President of the Russian Federation (2014), and the Order of Alexander Nevsky (2020).
By the resolution of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation dated September 24, 2025, No. 399-SF, he was appointed to the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
